South Carolina Senate gives approval to Amazon compromise, RetailCrossing finds 47,000 jobs.

The move will see the company bringing 2,000 jobs to Lexington County. The unanimous voice vote sends the deal back to the House. Last week, the House voted 97-20 to give Amazon a 5 year exemption on having to collect sales tax from the state's residents. In exchange, the company has agreed to make the jobs full-time jobs with health benefits and make an investment of at least $125 million.
Opponents of the Amazon deal kept coming up with new amendments till the last minute to hold up the vote, but the senators ignored most of the 230 proposed changes and went ahead with the vote. Governor Nikki Haley has said that she will support the Senate compromise and allow the deal to happen.
The compromise includes Amazon sending a confirmation email for every purchase to the customer stating that he may owe the state sales tax. The email will also provide a link to the state's Department of Revenue. Amazon will also have to send a yearly total of the customer's purchases to its South Carolina customers, stating that they may be liable to pay the sales tax on their income tax returns.
RetailCrossing, a job aggregator website focusing only on the retail industry related jobs has been able to compile over 47,000 jobs so far this week. These 47,000 jobs range from stocker to floor manager and other managerial positions.
