The Space and Visual Merchandising Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining both JDA and Visual Merchandising Manager planograms that provide SKU placement, fixture detail and visual merchandising part information across multiple categories for proper in store execution. Analysts are responsible for managing transition, reset, remodel and new concept planogram standards, timelines and shelf space analysis to fully align with category strategy, presentation guidelines and return on space goals. The role is responsible for up to 700 planogram versions, feeding replenishment for up to 6,000 SKUs transitioning up to 52 times per year.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with space and business team partners to develop and maintain the Transition Grid Tools and Processes to facilitate each category transition plan throughout the year
Collaborates with Sr Analyst to determine and validate that transition scope aligns with budgeted labor hours to enable proper retail execution
Facilitates SKU handoff execution meetings to ensure that all required elements for effective transitions and accurate planograms are delivered
Develops, implements, and analyzes performance of targeted assortments across demographic segments to enable growth while supporting category productivity and cash flow performance
Create, monitor, maintain all planograms and publish visual merchandising standards and weekly merchandising instructions for assigned business categories
Use micro space reporting to ensure that planograms provide adequate facings and capacity for top SKUs and minimize non-productive SKUs to assist managing owned inventory
Develop merchandising excellence best practices in every planogram to provide a consistent shopping experience for our customers in all locations
Creates planograms that align with customer shopping behavior, product protection standards (Ex. ADA), and the category selling strategy (price, brand or feature, etc.)
Builds collaborative relationships, drives merchandising and space recommendations, supports and educates partners on space principles and influence without authority to promote a positive customer shopping experience
Develops tools and processes to communicate critical time sensitive data to cross functional teams: store lists, store counts, SKU and store assortment grids, planogram versioning and segmentation requests, VPP (Vendor Produced Parts) counts, sign types and other planogram-based information
Partners with Visual Merchandising to execute product mock-up to test and validate merchandising solutions both within the JDA System and physical mock-ups within the mock-up facility and Prototype Room
Provides timely and accurate planogram store counts and version counts and lists which drive the accurate delivery of signage, fixtures, vendor provided parts and product deployment across the chain
Serve as the primary contact for all retail field submitted planogram issues, collaborating with key partners, researching and providing issue resolution back to retail stores within 24 hours of submission
Continually identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies by evaluating and streamlining planogram versions
Basic Requirements
1 Year (3 years if no Bachelor’s Degree) of Product Merchandising experience
Influence without authority; developed communication and diplomacy skills used to direct/persuade/influence others
Analyze complex problems, operate effectively in high pressure situations and make accurate decisions quickly
Preferred Requirements
JDA Intactix and/or other Space Management or Visual Merchandising software
2 Years Space Management, Space Planning, Planogram, Visual Merchandising, or Store Design experience
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience with a working knowledge of Retail, Inventory, Merchandising, or Supply Chain
