SUMMARY
Alaska Industrial Hardware

Counter Sales
employees for its Alaska retail locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assure proper customer service is given to every customer
Maintain your assigned area of the store in keeping with proper merchandising standards  
Stock merchandise at the direction of store management
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of product sold
Basic computer skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Must be self-motivated, being able to complete tasks during unsupervised periods
Preferred
Retail / customer service experience
Background in the building trade
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to be on your feet, standing, walking, and working on hard concrete and tile floors for full shifts.  
 Must be able to lift and carry 50# repeatedly, safely, and without unusual strain.
Frequent bending, reaching overhead, kneeling, and squatting.
Frequent pulling and stocking inventory items onto carts, or with material handling equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
Job is performed in an indoor retail store setting.
 Exposure to computer screens and requires use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable references and background check. Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
