Description:
King University is accepting applications for the position of Security Investigator. The successful candidate will conduct simple and complex investigations including, but not limited to review and analysis assigned cases of all types to determine appropriate investigative approach, conduct interviews, criminal history records checks, and information gathering processes. Provide real property and personnel security for King University as required by events and activities. Assists in security officer oversight and has some 24 hour on call duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience: Law enforcement, security, or related field experience required.
• Required to qualify to be licensed by the state of Tennessee as a security guard.
• Education: A high school degree is required, associate degree or higher preferred.
• Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills
• Leadership Skills: must be a person of high integrity who views this position as an opportunity for ministry with and among University students; have a clear understanding of Christian higher education as well as having a heart for service and for University students; good organizational skills as well as strong relational and social skills.
• Computer Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Level of Independence: High level of ability to work independently and be able to properly prioritize the work to be done.
• Physical Exertion Requirements: Medium Work as defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
• Schedule Flexibility: Regular weekend or evening work depending on the shift assigned.
• Driving History: Must qualify to drive a University owned vehicle.
• Procedures Commitment: The candidate must adhere to any and all King University policies as detailed for all employees in the Employee Handbook or specifically per any department, such as Admissions, Business Office, Financial Aid, etc.
• Christian Commitment: The candidate must have and be able to articulate a personal faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and support the mission of King University.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitation and records maintenance of the Criminal Background Check processes for employees and educational programs
• Facilitation and records maintenance of the Approved Driver process.
• Initial review and investigation of crimes and policy violations
• Assist with Campus Security Authority training
• Facilitation and records maintenance of the Security Officer Training program
• Obtain and Maintain Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Instructor Certification
