Summary:
The Manager, Strategic Analytics, is responsible for providing both day-to-day insights and big-picture analysis to help optimize performance across Aaron's business units. The role requires the ability to leverage financial and operations knowledge to inform senior leadership and help formulate recommendations related to the company's corporate strategy and execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop a detailed, strategic analytical framework, inclusive of predictive analytics, to guide selected company initiatives.
· Conduct in-depth analyses of performance across a variety of company projects and present recommendations to team members, product owners, and senior management.
· Engage with business leaders and team members to understand the needs of the business, turn them into data requirements, and structure data-based solutions.
· Help define and recommend measurement, strategies, and reporting that will be used to inform key business decisions and drive a best-in-class customer experience while delivering profitable results.
· Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements to management resulting in increased revenue and/or reduction of expenses.
Required Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as math or statistics
· 5 years of analytics experience in corporate contexts
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Ability to lead complex quantitative and qualitative research efforts and business intelligence solutions.
· Pro-actively participate in and identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, standardization, and process simplification.
· Experience in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytical methods and their appropriate application to business issues.
· Understanding of how to blend data from multiple sources to help answer key business questions.
· Expert-level understanding of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and how to ‘tell a story’ that conveys business insights by leveraging data.
· Proficient SQL programming skills to extract, transform, and prepare data for analysis.
· Data visualization skills and experience in applications such as Power BI or Tableau.
· Preferred skills: Proficiency in Python or R for data analytics or experience with low/no code data workflow applications.
· Competency: Time management – Demonstrates efficiency and persistence, managing own time and ensuring engagement deadlines and objectives are met
· Competency: Communication – Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. This includes the ability to describe or explain complex processes and issues in a concise manner
· Competency: Persuasion and collaboration – Nurtures and builds effective partnerships with clients to achieve results; team player, comfortable working on multiple teams/projects simultaneously and independently, as needed
· Competency: Critical thinking – Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately, and reach productive decisions
