What is the E-Commerce Digital Channel Sr. Manager responsible for?

The E-Commerce Digital Channel Manager plays a key role in leading and delivering new and continuous improvement projects. Due to the horizontal nature of the digital channel, this position must exhibit the ability and credibility to influence and collaborate with cross-functional category business leaders as well as digital and technology partners in managing this team’s work efforts. The areas of ownership and impact include:

Digital Channel Enablement

• Responsible for the end-to-end management of large-scale projects or small programs primarily impacting E-Commerce digital space.

• Collaborate with Managers, Directors and Officers to ensure resources are available to support program milestones and timelines.

• Facilitate meetings with business and technical teams, with the potential to collaborate with 3rd party vendors.

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks and dependencies across assigned projects to ensure strategic objectives are accomplished.

• Serve as a leader and change agent, advocating Best Buy’s strategic E-Commerce objectives.

• Provide work direction in translating business requirements into problem statements to be interpreted into Product Team OKR’s.

Digital Channel Management

• Proactively identify opportunities to streamline/automate processes as a function of project planning and scope design.

• Partner with leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement, training, role clarity and defect elimination.

• Build and leverage a network of subject matter experts to increase ROI across managed workstreams.

• Lead needs assessments to identify “day 2” operational impacts of new feature deployments; develop and implement plans to address gaps.

• Identify opportunities for process documentation or improvement efforts through incident management and partnerships across the organization.

• Lead and facilitate large cross-functional teams to map current and future state processes from idea to implementation.

• Analyze current processes to determine bottlenecks and make fact-based recommendations for improvement to process and / or automation.

• Develop, optimize and sustain end-to-end process documentation with emphasis on business activities, roles and responsibilities needed to develop, deliver and maintain customer experiences on all E-Commerce platforms.

Communication

• Effectively communicate in verbal and in written form with leadership, team members and cross-functional partners across E-Commerce and the Enterprise.

• Issue communications to large audiences including management, timeliness of updates and governance of guiding principles.

• Able to communicate complex (including technical) messages tailored to fit audiences.

• Advises and informs management of key findings and recommendations in a timely manner.

• Build and maintain required documentation to sustain E-Commerce processes.

• Resolves conflicts that could delay a project among project's cross-functional partners; conflict resolution is expected with only minimal support from PM leadership.

Management & Leadership

Manage a team of two direct reports and up to seven in-direct reports

Create an engaging environment where the team can achieve maximum performance and potential, receive timely and clear direction, provided with development opportunities and receives rewards/recognition as well as receiving productive feedback that is open and authentic.

Basic Qualifications

5 years of experience in one or a combination of ECommerce, merchandising, operations, analytics, or related business discipline

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

5 years of experience in solving complex problems and process streamlining/reengineering

5 years direct team leadership experience

3 Years of Project/Program Management

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or higher in Business Administration or Marketing

Experience in ECommerce
