POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide excellent customer service by acknowledging customers as they enter and exit the store, answering questions and assisting with deactivation of electronic article surveillance devices. Additionally, perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

*Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service *Acknowledge customers in a friendly manner as they enter and exit the store *Maneuver in the store's entry and exit areas *Politely ask customers to see their receipt for non-bagged items and direct customers to registers when non-bagged items are observed *Respond to activations of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems *Assist customers with deactivation of EAS devices *Answer customer questions concerning the location of items or sections within the store *Direct communication with the district Asset Protection (AP) manager/district AP specialists to report suspicious behavior *Report incidents on the Kroger Loss Prevention Monitoring System (KLPMS) *Review closed-circuit television (CCTV) and report any incidents to district AP manager *Perform random associate parcel/receipt check *Assist customers with bascarts that may lock up with Purcheck *Report safety concerns to supervisor *Comply with corporate policies and promote/follow company initiatives *Maintain flexibility to work any shift *Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

*High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or combination of relevant education and experience *Minimum 18 years of age *Ability to pass drug test *Ability to work in a fast-paced environment *Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality *Accuracy/attention to detail *Ability to work within rigid timeframes and meet resolute deadlines

DESIRED PREVIOUS JOB EXPERIENCE:

*Knowledge of Kroger policies, procedures, and organizational structure *Ability to speak a second language
